Abigail Mahnke, President

Abigail Mahnke graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Columbia University, and won a monetary prize for Promise of Distinction in the Field of Philosophy upon graduation. At many job interviews she was asked, “What did you plan to do with a philosophy degree?” and she always answered, “Anything!”

Little did she know how true that would turn out to be. While others focus on one particular area, Abigail’s talent is her ability to do some of everything. She has been in and out of publishing for 17 years doing project management, graphic design, page layout, writing, proofreading and editing. She oversaw a $1M construction project for a wellness facility; managed production of all signage for an aquarium; and joined her husband’s property management company, growing it 550% in 9 months and then selling it for a profit.

Thanks to hard work, persistence, education and a diverse range of work experiences—many of them trial by fire—Abigail Mahnke is able to take on just about anything. Originally from Boston, Abigail moved to Austin in 2004 to pursue her love of hot weather (no joke!). It was clearly meant to be because she got a job within a week of arriving and met her husband-to-be shortly thereafter.

In addition to founding The Outsource Resource, Abigail is the host of Inner Views, an interview radio show on KOOP 91.7 FM where she interviews everyday people with extraordinary stories. She has received Best Talk Show awards from KOOP 2 years in a row.

Abigail is also passionate about the environment. After extensive research on green building, she completely remodeled her home, receiving Austin’s highest possible green rating of 5 stars.
